what is home staging
Home staging, or real estate staging is design to create a better first impression to potential buyers. The house you live in and the house you are selling should be two different places. A home stager will use effective space planning methods and utilize existing furniture and accessories in a redesign plan to make a space more impressionable. In addition, the designer may bring in furniture, artwork, plants and accessories to complete the look.
The result is a home that will sell faster and at a higher price tag as compared to a non-staged home. A study conducted in 2005 for Hennepin County stated that, on average, a staged house sold in 26.5 days and at 102% of the asking price, while a similar non-staged house sold in 56 days and at 98.4% of the asking price. *
As today’s market is quite a different picture than in 2005, staging is all the more important to bringing in the buyers that matter. First impressions are everything, and photos of your newly staged home will entice buyers to visit your property in the first place.
